Swapping Haircuts

Dad had been home for a furlough from the Army and was returning the following day. One of his buddies just got out on leave when they ran into each other and decided to swap hair cuts. 

Dad's friend worked so hard to give Dad a good hair cut. Though Dad wasn't worried, his furlough was over the next day and he would get a military cut when returning to his ship. 

After Dad's friend finished his hair the young man sat down and Dad started working on him. Dad said he would trim a little from one side then the other, then back up to check that they were even. After trimming and checking several times he finally told his friend to look in the mirror, he did, to his horror. One side was shaved and the other was long.
