Mrs. Ruff Did It

Another time while we lived at Success, around 1961 I tried to curl my hair with a pocket comb while sitting in class. After twisting my hair around the comb  I couldn't get it out,  so I got my scissors and cut it out.

After pulling the  hair out of the comb I laid it on top of my head when I started walking home. We lived about five blocks from the school. (You can tell how smart I was to think it would stay up there.)

After getting home Dad asked if I would put his electric razor up. When I came back into the room they noticed it cut. Dad asked if I got it caught in his razor box. I told him yes.

Then Mom started fixing my hair and realized it was too even to have been caught in the box.

Realizing I was busted I quickly told the truth, they thought. I told them I got it caught in the swing and Mrs. Ruff cut it out. They believed that for quite some time before I really told the truth.

We were living at Leachville, AR a couple years later and it started storming one night. It was so scary and my conscience bothered me so bad I went to Mom and Dad's bedroom and confessed
