One time when Dayna and Darlene were about three and four we ran out of propane after AB went to work. It was icy weather and we lived where the wind whipped around and through the trailer from across the cotton fields.
Dayna, Darlene and I all wrapped up good and climbed in one bed to stay warm. We stayed there all day, reading, and coloring.
When we got hungry I checked for something we could eat, since we couldn't cook. Spinach and cornbread were all that was left over from the night before, so we ate that for breakfast and lunch.
It was a long day, but we learned long ago that tough or bad situations can be turned into fun.
