We had reached the sidewalk before realizing that Sherlyn wasn't with us. I turned to walk back in, expecting to find her chatting with a new friend, as she never meets a stranger.
The front of the restaurant was glass, with a glass entryway and two sets of double doors. As I stepped in front of the outside doors Sherlyn was visible. She saw me and started walking hastily in my direction, so I stopped to wait for her.
I watched as Sherlyn was rushing to join us outside. Just as I realized that she didn't see the glass enclosure, she hit it at full tilt and bounced backward.
As Sherlyn bounced off of the glass I yelled and exploded in laughter. The other girls spun quickly to discover the reason for my hilarity, and joined in when they heard.
Sherlyn was only slightly stunned when she hit the glass, but was laughing with us by the time she reached the sidewalk.
