Life is not judged by what you see,
For beauty will soon decay.
The pleasing things that eyes behold,
Will quickly pass away.
Our eyes will soon grow weaker,
Our vision will grow dim.
But life will just grow sweeter,
For those who trust in Him.
Life is not found in things we own,
Like diamonds, silver or gold.
For thieves could come and take away,
These treasures that we hold.
They will quickly lose their glitter,
As age will take it's toll.
But, life will just grow sweeter,
If to His hand we hold.
Life is not in pleasures,
This world so freely gives.
The one who's given to them,
Is not really the one who lives.
The seeds of pleasure soon bring strife,
And miseries untold.
But joy comes in the morning,
If to His hand we hold.
Life is not just in a body of health,
Though a perfect one you may attain.
'Twill soon be ravaged by old age,
Succumb to wrinkles and to pain.
With shoulders stopped and limbs grown weak,
Our steps much shorter may be.
But with His nail scarred hand in our hand,
That's life abundantly.
